A Brief History of The Guerrilla Girls, 2022

Do you know who the Guerrilla Girls are? A collective of anonymous, feminist gorilla-masked art activists, the group started in 1985 and still operates today, calling themselves “the conscience of the art world.”

While art history has long overlooked women’s contributions, the vigilante group strove to fight discrimination with facts, pasting and postering the streets of New York with statistics of the bleak realities of being a woman artist. But how far have we come in women’s art representation and equity.
