The White Paper: Reprogramming: The Digital Age & Distraction

The Final Project for my Foundations in Graduate Studies class was to produce a White Paper, synthesizing all the fascinating and valuable concepts I have learned throughout this course.

I chose to write mine on a dangerous effect of modern-day technology: Distraction. I discuss mindfulness and deep work as solutions to our society’s issues with attention span and social media addiction; referencing numerous articles from both class and independent research, scientific studies, and the class text, Deep Work: Rules for Focused Success in a Distracted World by Cal Newport.

I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoyed learning, practicing, and writing about these important issues we face every day.

Download the pdf.

Thank you for taking a look at my White Paper. And thank you to my professor, Ewa Callahan, for a fantastic class I will always remember!
